Today we finished off the layers of the earth and looked at how scientists use indirect evidence from seismic waves to "see" what is under our feet.   Seismic tomography  is the example of how this is done.  Using seismic waves from earthquakes scientists can "see" what the earth is made out of because these wave move at different speeds depending on the density of the material the waves are moving through. We then moved on to the focusing question of "How do Earth's plates help create land forms.  We discuss one of the pioneers in the idea of continental drift Alfred Wegener.
