Tuesday 3/5/19

Today we continued with the Solar/Wind graph lab.   We look at the example that we worked on in class.  This time we are working with a wind generators output.  Here we are seeing how energy from a wind generator is measured in volts and that the volts move up and down depending on the amount of wind that is blowing. If you look at the graph below you will see at sample points 7-9 that there is no energy produced because there was too much wind.   We also looked at sample point 12-13 and noticed that again the volts dropped because the wind was slowly dying down. We discussed that a wind generator only works when the wind is blowing not to fast or not to slow.  This again shows the weakness of this type of renewable energy.
