Today we finished off the Inference lab.  Here we are learning the meaning of what an inference is and how it is relevant to a science investigation. Many students student struggle with the difference between what an observation is and what a inference is.   Remember an observation statement is a fact and should start out I see/hear/feel (tactile)/taste/smell.   A inference statement brings with it the observation and a persons prior knowledge to make an assumption.  Simply put an inference is a very base form of a hypothesis.  So another work for inference is a hypothesis or an educated guess.
