Tuesday 10/1/19

Today we finished working with the metric measurements.    Students are struggling with converting from one unit size to another in the metric system.   The decimal is your friend in base 10.  So, all you have to do is slide the decimal either to the right or to the left in order to go from on size to another.  For example:

2000 m    (meters) => to 2 Km  (Kilometers)

The reason for this is that 1 kilometer is equal to 1000 meters.   Look at the Slider that we worked on on Thursday 9/26  If you are reading this then you will know that we have a quick quiz on conversions this week.
