Today we took a quick quiz on the the different models of the the atom.

Below is the quiz.   Please note that we went over this in class and we will take this quiz again so that every student has an understanding of each model.

Thomson's model - Cookie model

Rutherford's Model - Jimmy Neutron model or the planetary model

Bohr's Model - electrons in certain orbits or shell model

Schrodinger's Model- This is the modern cloud model., the dandelion or beehive model

We then continued with our discussion about mater specifically Substances.  We learned that there are two types of substances, elements and compounds

1. Elements - a substance that consists of just on type of atom
examples are gold, silver, aluminum, or copper
2. Compounds - a type of substance containing atoms of two or more different elements chemically bonded
examples are sugar, salt, water, or carbon dioxide
