Today we moved from 
Rutherford's model to 
Bohr's model.  In Bohr's model he theorized that electrons are in stable orbits that have more energy the farther out they are from the nucleus of the atom.  (See image below.)
We then moved on to 
the modern model of the atom.  The modern model is the cloud model where electrons orbit/float in a cloud around the nucleus of the atom. This is the same as a bee hive where the bees swarm around the hive and are more concentrated near the center. (See image below.)
