Today we reviewed the information from lesson 1 of chapter 10 from the text book, pp. 347-349. We then took the time to see how to create Bohr models of individual element. We are getting all of this information from each individual tile form the Periodic Table. The goal is to learn how to use the table to get information off of it.
We took the time to look at Hydrogen, Helium and then Oxygen
Below is an example of what we did.
Atomic Number = 2
Atomic Mass = 4
Chemical symbol = He
Protons = 2+
Electrons = 2-
Neutrons = 20
Atomic Mass = 4
Chemical symbol = He
Protons = 2+
Electrons = 2-
Neutrons = 20
Atomic Number = 8
Atomic Mass = 16
Chemical symbol = O
Protons = 8+
Electrons = 8-
Neutrons = 80
We also created a Bohr's model of each individual element.
Hydrogen
Helium
Oxygen
If you are still confused, below are three videos on the Periodic table and how to use it.
