   Today we continued with our discussion about the history of the atom.  We learned about Neils Bohr and his discovery of how energy affected hydrogen atoms.  His experiments came up with yet another model of the atom.  This time around this model had electrons in circular orbits that had higher energy levels depending on how far away they were from the nucleus. (See image 1 below.) 

We then looked at the Modern atomic model.  This new model was proposed by Irwin Schrödinger. His model had electrons buzzing around the nucleus like bees around a hive.  We also mentioned that this model might look like a dandelion that is going to seed. (See images 2 - 4 below.)
