Today we continued with our discussion about the history of the atom. We learned about Ernest Rutherford and his discovery of the nucleus of the atom. He and his students tested Thomson's model using alpha particle being projected at a gold foil. (See image a below) This lead to a new model of the atom. (See image 2 below)
