Today we finished working with earthquakes an volcanoes.  We learned that earthquakes cause damaged because of the energy that is released because of the pressures being held in check at fault line which where two plates are move by or towards each other.    

We reviewed the different boundary types and then looked at how earthquakes are found along these boundaries.   We learned that earthquakes give off two types of seismic waves. We then learned that the strength of the earthquake is given on the Richter Scale.   We then finished writing down what all the parts to a volcano are.

We also learned that in AD 132 the Chinese had invented a seismometer the could detect the direction of earthquakes.   (See images below.)
