Today we read pp. 320-322 and continued with our discussion about the history of the atom. We first took the time to learn that many of these famous scientist had made it into popular culture. We learned about Schrodinger's cat. Then, we learned about Irwin Schrodinger and the modern cloud model of the atom. We discussed that the modern model has the electrons buzzing around the nucleus like either a bee hive or has a dandelion appearance. Below is a series of pictures to help with the image of this model. We then finished off our discussion with quarks which make up both protons and electrons.
