Today we looked at the physical properties of matter. We stated the Mass v. Weight lab. Here we are seeing how the weight of an object can change while the mass of the same object remains the same. During this lab we review lab safety and the required equipment needed in order to participate in a lab. We also learned how to use a triple beam balance scale and a spring scale. We also talked about how mass measures the amount of matter an object has, while weight measure the amount of force exerted on an object (gravity). Mass is measured in grams while weight is measured in Newtons. I have two videos below to help explain this.
