Today we worked on log 6 q3 and then finished off the energy transfer "Bean" lab. We took the time to see how the this lab shows how the concept of conservation of energy works. Simply put, in a closed system energy is neither created or destroyed it is just transformed from one to another.
We took the time to truly geek out and watched a quick video from professor Dave. This quick video goes into detail how the law of conservation of energy and the 1st law of thermodynamics are connected. We watched up to time stamp 3:15. I know that this is a bit above the students level but the first few minutes is what we looked at. The concept that I want them to walk away with is that entropy is what helps to direct the flow of energy.
We then took the time to glue in the "Bean" lab and all the other of our lab sheets if we did not do so already. Please bear in mind that the lab book is due on Monday 2/22/21.
