Today we worked on log 6 q3 and then did quick review of the different types of potential energy. See the Panda below to jog your memory. We then took the time to see how kinetic energy will come on the scene of there is movement. See the cow below for help with that. We then discussed the concept of how energy moves from potential energy to kinetic energy.
A quick quiz on symbols was given. This is not a grade but I want my students to understand what each of the following symbols mean.
≠ means does not equal
≈ means approximately equal to
>
≤ means less than or equal to
∆ means change
We then watched a quick video from professor Dave. This quick video goes into detail how the law of conservation of energy works as energy moves from kinetic energy to potential energy and then back again. We watched up to time stamp 1:45. Again I know that this is a bit above the students level but the first few minutes have an animation that really explains this concept.
We discussed the concept once again by reading from pp. 170-171 in our textbook. The notes we took are below. We then turned in our lab books at the end of the hour.
